Top 5 Free File Hosting Sites

Now days people are constantly sharing music, videos, and other files with people across the web. I have compiled a top 5 list of the very best free file hosting sites the internet has to offer. Also included is the maximum file size the file hosting site allows per split archive. Meaning how large each file you upload can be.

MediaFire

MediaFire is an award winning file host that is %100 free and has many great features. Unlimited uploads, unlimited downloads, unlimited storage, no speed limits, downloading resuming, rss file feeds and much more. MediaFire is no doubt the best free file host.

Maximum Upload Size Per File

  • Free Users: 200mb
  • Premium Users: 2gb

Megaupload

Megaupload claims to be the leading provider of online storage. They offer you free premium file hosting which is paid for by the advertisements they display on their website much like Mediafire. However you can upgrade to premium for even more storage and speed. If you like tools and apps Megaupload also has a fix for you with the leading number of apps and tools just for Megaupload users.

Maximum Upload Size Per File

  • Free User: 2gb
  • Premium User: Unlimited

Rapidshare

Rapidshare probably the oldest and most reliable file host in the scene today. Al though Rapidshare may be a little shy on the free-user friendly side they make up for it with an amazing premium service. If you are looking for reliability and security Rapidshare is a good choice for you.

Maximum Upload Size Per File

  • Free User: 200mb
  • Premium User: Unlimited

Hotfile

Hotfile is another great free file hosting site that allows you to share file up to 400mb with anyone across the web. Another cool feature about Hotfile they pay you when people download your files!

Maximum Upload Size Per File

  • Free User: 400mb
  • Premium: 400mb

Storage.to

Storage.to is rather new to file hosting scene but don't let that fool you. When it comes to hosting large files Storage.to allows files up to 1gb per split archive! They also pay you when users download your files. Storage.to is well worth the time.

Maximum Upload Size Per File

  • Free User: 1gb
  • Premium: 1gb

Hope you enjoyed this list. If you know of any other free file hosting I would love to hear about them in the comments section. Happy file hosting!

Don't forget to vote for your favorite free file host!

Hey. I know it come with good intentions but I don't think these are really the best. But it also depends on the situation. I know that Megaupload has the best download speed compare to the rest of the hosting sites. One thing that Mediafire bests Megaupload is the limitations. It's unlimited and parallel downloading. Same goes for the others. There's things you can do to make the list much better then just listing the 5 most used hosting sites.

I personally hated both megaupload, rapidshare AND most of all hotfile...I used to have alot of my stuff on RS, but then their service went down to crap…then switched to hotfile, who's servers crashed & lost ALL my files…then megaupload which omg i can’t believe what happened.

now I have all my files on:

…decent sized allowance, and it gives my users direct-links…which they love....so far, it’s been better than sonic, MU and HF COMBINED!!!

I really like Quick File Post... http://www.qfpost.com/ been using it for years. Saves time when I have to send a file quick and not hassle with logins or ZIP file attachments getting filtered by Gmail.
